Registration and Waitlist Information
The Whistler Children’s Centre manages approximately 75 spaces for local families children ages 3 months to 6 years.
All full-time staff are certified Early Childhood Educators and/or Infant Toddler Educators and each of the child care programs are licensed by the provincial government. Many aspects of the service exceed licensing requirements.
Provincially there is a shortage of licensed child care programs. Our Centre has a waiting list with times varying from less than a year to over 2 years. The age of the child and type of care wanted affect waiting list times. Our Infant and Toddler Programs have the longest waitlists and families apply many months and sometimes years in advance of actually needing care. The number of children enrolled and the minimum and maximum age of the children in any particular program is regulated by licensing requirements.
All vacancies are filled in accordance with licensing regulations and consideration of your placement on our waitlist. Many variables influence the waiting times, including the time of year, availability of positions, and date of pre-enrollment.
Priority for registration is given to:
1. Local Families Children who are currently attending the Centre requesting additional days.
2. Siblings of children already in the Centre.
3. According to placement on the waitlist.
To register your child on our waitlist please complete the pre-enrollment form and submit to the Centre with your $25 pre-enrollment fee.
Here are some resources to help you find alternate care while you wait.
