Tips For Qualified Foreign Workers

The Whistler Children’s Centre has hired a number of ECE qualified foreign workers, and they play a vital role in our teaching team. If you have ECE training outside of Canada and are planning to come to Whistler, the Whistler Children’s Centre is inviting you to join our team!

Steps to take prior to applying at Whistler Children’s Centre

1. You are required by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to have a medical exam in order to obtain valid work permit with no restriction on working with children. Please see the CIC website for the information about the medical exam.

2.
Prior to arriving in Whistler it is recommended that you apply to the ECE Registry at the British Columbia (BC) Ministry of Child and Family Development with your out of country education. The Registry will give you further information and forms which will enable you to transfer your qualifications to BC credentials. This evaluation process may take weeks and therefore should be started well ahead of your arrival in Whistler.
